GUEST SPEAKER:Gordon Banks M.P. was the guest speaker at this month's meeting. He gave a talk about his work in the West
Minster Parliament. His 4 main campaigns, air guns, loop cords, Bevan Boys and land maintenance contracts. He
also informed us that his office in Alloa is open Monday - Friday. He has an office in Crieff open 2 days a week as
well as his office in West Minster. He highlighted he does as much work as he can in Westminster but finds it easier
to work from Alloa as there is more office space and obviously nearer to his constituents. He holds three surgeries
each Friday. He also has pre-planned visits to various locations, while there people are given the chance to display a
poster in their window. When seen Gordon will then knock on the door and speak to the individual as they have
highlighted the need to speak to him through the poster in the window. Home visits can be arranged for people with
difficulties getting out and about. When he started his Parliamentary career he was on three Westminster
committees, he is now on one. This is beneficial as it gives him more time for his constituency work. During the
summer recess he arranges visits such as one to the Almond Bank with the minister for defense. He said that if
anyone would be interested in a tour of the Westminster Parliament he would be happy to arrange it.

the land, To this end the product needs weeds to work, It kills the weeds but leaves no trace of chemical in the soil.

A.O.B.: Alan Graham informed us his Community Group in Hutton Park were organizing a Fun-Day on 27th September with the usual stalls
bouncy castles etc, Check local Press for details.
Keith gave a speech highlighting the need for unity, He highlighted that the real Sauchie Community Group is the Meeting once a month and that
the only way this works is that everyone is treated fairly from someone who has been a member from day one to the person who walks in the door
at the next meeting for the first time, He said that everyone has a part to play and that simply by coming to a Group meeting this in itself was
playing a massive part in Community Group.
The social events, Resource Centre, Web Site, Van etc are the icing on the cake.
Keith highlighted the commitment of Committee members past and present, He said anyone big and brave enough to take a Committee place
deserves recognition and praise for their courage to do what it takes to support an organization and keep it working.
He said in an ideal world all our Committee would be from Sauchie, but recent times have saw Committee members elected from out with
Sauchie, Although this is not what some people would want, It is better to have a non Sauchie Resident fill a vital role than have a vacant vital
position, He stated that the hardest places to fill with most work involved were Treasurer and Secretary.
Keith also praised the efforts of joint working with local Councillors Derek and Gary and said we should work Closely with Gordon Banks M.P.
and Keith Brown M.S.P. as in many ways we are all interested in improving Sauchie for all residents benefit.
On a personal note Keith said he was grateful for the ability to know so many people by their first name, If it had not been for the Community
Group he would not have met so many genuine decent people and in essence this is what the Community group should be about People working
together and not individuals or personal gain.

Derek then stood up and thanked Keith for his words, He agreed with most of what was said and highlighted the need for unity as the most
important way to find success.
Derek recalled the humble beginnings of the formers Sauchie West Group in 92 and the earlier Sauchie Centre Group in 88 and all the work that
went in to creating the organization that we see today.
Derek went on to say that we are only able to meet here today because of the work and dedication of previous and current Committee members
and all those general members who have been there to encourage and support the Committee.

CLOSE:The date of the next meeting is confirmed as Thursday 28th Sept 08 at 7pm in the Resource Centre.
