Matters Arising # Julie Hamilton from Clackmannanshire Council will be coming to the September meeting to discuss our concerns about Sauchie Main Street.

# Forth Valley College will hold a taster session about the different courses they will be running in the communities, (LT).
|
# c.c.t.v. cameras, There was a walkabout regarding the site of the six poles for the cameras, Initially three cameras will be installed, This should be completed by the
end of the year.
|
# The new van application will we believe be judged soon.
|
# There is a meeting between Ochilview Housing Association and us on the10th September 7pm in the Resource Centre, This is to discuss the old Sauchie School
site.
|
# The hedge in Sprotwell Terrace has now been cut back.
|
# The European Regeneration funding Application will be judged in September, This will allow the Councils Cultural and Community Services to provide activities for
local people from the very young to the elderly with our support.
|
# I have held the second in our uniting Sauchie meetings, So far the prospects are looking positive, There will be another meeting in November at which all Sauchies
organisations will be asked to send one or two representatives.
|
The main aim is to support each others efforts and to encourage more participation from all ages to take part in our organisations particularly those who are not
currently linked to any organisation.

Police Report P.C. George Hastie gave the following Report - 32 crimes this month of which 20 are detected. There was 18 litres of cider taken from under age
children in the Beechwood/Gartmorn Road area the Friday after the last Group meeting, With a 21yr old charged with supplying alcohol, Both shops have now been
made aware of the situation regarding selling alcohol.

Since the start of the fixed penalty tickets for anti social behaviour there have been 12 issued in Sauchie and seven remain unpaid and if they don't pay they get a £60
means warrant and if they don't pay they are sent to jail, 93 in total have been issued in Clackmannanshire.
|
This weekend we will be concentrating on anti social behaviour mainly the possession and supply of alcohol.

Councillors Report Gary gave the following Report - I support the Community Groups application for the Activ8 European funding application, A couple of things
from the Council, There has been a 3.5 million pound deficit for next years budget and also the Council has been asked to provide 16 million pounds for its share of
the new private build Schools contract for next year, This was supposed to be 8 million,

This means the Council will now sell of any surplus land or buildings in order to raise the money with Fairfield School either sold or in the process of being sold, I have
not heard about the former Scout Hall Main Street but I believe it may well be sold as well.

There is a leisure strategy paper passed by the Council to allow the wider community to have its say on the future of leisure and community provision in
Clackmannanshire, The Community Group should take an active part in this strategy.
|
There are free home fire security checks available from the Council.
|
With regards to trees, Those in Beechwood and Sauchie Hall will be crown raised sometime between October and March, Those in Mar Place and Craigview will be
done as a priority as these branches are encroaching pavements.
|
The grass verges in Branshill park will be cut soon. The land owner of the ditch at the back of Diverswell has been written to about the rat problem.
|
Scottish power would like to come to the September meeting to talk to us about cables being laid in Sauchie which may lead to a lot of disturbance, (GW).
|
There have been numerous complaints about the low water pressure in parts of Sauchie, The road in Posthill/Gartmorn Road has had the bollards removed and is
now open, I am supporting the Community Groups request for the land and have been in discussion with the Chief Executive on this matter.

Leisure Report Laura gave the following Report, The recent bus trips both had starting problems but in the end went well, collectively we lost £62 on these trips,
We will now look at next years trips and consider using the Regeneration mini bus, (LT).

The next event is the Fun Weekend with a teenage Blue Light Disco on Friday 21st September 8pm-11pm then on Saturday 22nd September during the day 2 family
cinema film shows and on the Saturday night a cabaret dance event from 8pm-11.30pm, All these events are FREE !
|
October the 12th is Twist and Shout the Beatles Tribute show 8pm-11pm Tickets £6.
|
December 14th is the Christmas Dance with vocal duo The Robins 8pm-11pm Tickets £5.
|
All events are in Sauchie Hall and all three dances have a Bar and raffle, With the doors opening at 7.30pm.
|
New events for 2008 will be discussed at the October meeting.
|

A.O.B # Keith proposed upgrading the office to make it more adaptable for other uses, The first is to put in a new work top instead of the two tables and changing
from computers to laptops which can be put in the cupboard to allow space on the work top, At the September meeting tea and coffee will be available in the office
from 6.30pm. (KT).

# Keith proposed to have occasional members and signed guests nights in the Resource Centre to allow people the chance to get to know one another in an informal
setting, This was passed unanimously, (KT LT ).
|
# It is suggested we upgrade our lighting and heating to make it more environmentally friendly, This was agreed (KT).
|
# Land to rear of Resource Centre, I will arrange to meet with George Adamson and our Councillors to make progress in transferring the land over to our ownership,
(KT).
|
# We have been successful in acquiring £695 for back out blinds for Sauchie Hall, This will help us with our film Shows.
|
# I have created a booklet with a brief history of the Community Group but more importantly it mentions all those who have played an active part in the Community
Group throughout the years, Each current member will get a copy as well as former members.
|
# Letters with invitations to meetings and activities were read out and dealt with. (KT).
|
# The paths in Roundlewood are being broken by tree roots. (GW).
|
# 2 lights are out in Gartmorn Road and have been out for some time (GW).
|
# The roundabout at Whins road has a severe problem with shrubs obscuring the road junctions especially coming up from Morrisons, (GW).
|
# The shrubs in Main Street area are causing visibility problems when exiting from Greygoran. (GW).
|
# Could an outside light be placed on the wall at the back entrance to the flats in Main Street 100 - 106, (GW).
|
# The newly landscaped back gardens in Main Street that were covered in chips are now covered in weeds, (GW).
|
# The Blue Boxes in the Gartmorn Road area are meant to be collected on Mondays are not being emptied until Wednesdays with the end result of children emptying
the boxes as they await collection, (GW).
|
# The paths in all the housing areas up from Greygoran are covered in weeds, (GW).
|
# The Sauchie Bowling Club has had their toilets flooded due to the drain in Fairfiled Park backing up, (GW).
|
# Could Trees or shrubs be planted on the grass plot that runs parallel with Burnside Street, (DS).
|

I would like to wish a speedy recovery to Provost Derek Stewart who has recently been in hospital under going an operation, We look forward to his returning to the
monthly meetings and other Community Group activities.

Please note that as was mentioned in the above Group minutes that Julie Hamilton will be attending Septembers meeting to discuss our concerns about the Main
Street.
|
It is important that we get a full turn out at this meeting, If you care about the Main Street or want to have your say on its future development then
this is your chance.
|
|
After a review of our membership with the new additions and the subtraction of non attendees we now have 60 members which is still impressive.
|
|
